Product Introduction

| Chemical Name | Polyoxymethylene, scientifically known as polyoxymethylene, is also referred to in English as Acetal resin, Polyoxymethylene, Polyacetal, abbreviated as POM, commonly known as "super steel" or "racing steel." |
| Brief Description and Characteristics | POM has good overall performance, with outstanding fatigue resistance and creep resistance, and good electrical properties. 1. Mechanical properties: It has a high elastic modulus, very high hardness and rigidity. It can be used for long-term service between -40°C and 100°C. It also withstands repeated impacts with minimal change in strength. Strength is minimally affected by temperature and temperature variations. POM is the most fatigue-resistant thermoplastic material, with low creep. 2. Thermal properties: It has a heat distortion temperature of 136°C for homopolymer and 110°C for copolymer. According to UL standards, the long-term heat resistance temperature of polyoxymethylene is 85–105°C. 3. Chemical resistance: It has no solvent at room temperature. Among all engineering plastics, POM exhibits outstanding resistance to organic solvents and oils. It has particularly good corrosion resistance under high-temperature conditions, with minimal changes in dimensions and mechanical strength. POM has good compatibility with various pigments and oils, making it easy to color. However, since some colors are acidic, the pigments used for POM need to be carefully selected. The production of its color masterbatch is also far more demanding than that of general resins. Due to its crystalline nature, POM cannot be colored with dyes. 4 Electrical properties: The dielectric constant is not affected by temperature and humidity. Trace impurity differences caused by different manufacturing processes can have an order-of-magnitude effect on volume resistivity. |
| Product Applications | Automotive industry: used in automotive pumps, carburetor components, fuel lines, power valves, universal joint bearings, motor gears, handles, instrument panels, automotive window lift mechanisms, electrical switches, seat belt buckles, etc. In the machinery manufacturing industry: widely used as gears, drive shafts, chains, valves, valve stem nuts, bearings, cams, impellers, rollers, nozzles, bushings, pipe fittings, and mechanical structural parts and other transmission components. In the field of electronic appliances and household appliances: used to manufacture plugs, switches, buttons, relays, washing machine pulleys, cassette tape shafts and wheel housings, electronic computers, and various parts of televisions, washing machines, refrigerators, telephones, tape recorders, and dishwashers, etc. Precision instruments: used for manufacturing support frames, housings, friction pads, and parts for clocks, cameras, and other precision instruments. Industrial and consumer: Polyoxymethylene is also used for corrosion-resistant fire hydrants, pen barrels and caps, toys, combs, zippers, mascara wands, and other consumer products. |
