Product Introduction

| Chemical Name | Polyoxymethylene, scientifically known as polyoxymethylene, is also called Acetal resin, Polyoxymethylene, Polyacetal, abbreviated as POM, and commonly known as "super steel" or "high-performance plastic". |
| Brief Description and Properties | POM has excellent overall performance, outstanding fatigue and creep resistance, and good electrical properties. 1 Mechanical Properties: High elastic modulus, very high hardness and rigidity. Can be used long-term between -40°C and 100°C. It is resistant to repeated impacts with little change in strength. Strength is little affected by temperature and temperature changes. POM is the most fatigue-resistant among thermoplastic materials, with low creep. 2 Thermal Properties: Has a heat distortion temperature of 136°C for homopolymers and 110°C for copolymers. According to UL standards, the long-term heat resistance temperature of polyoxymethylene is 85-105°C. 3 Chemical Resistance: It has no solvents at room temperature. Among all engineering plastics, POM has outstanding resistance to organic solvents and oils. It has good corrosion resistance, especially at high temperatures. Its dimensions and mechanical strength change little. POM has good compatibility with various pigment oils and is easy to color. However, because some colors are acidic, pigments used for POM need to be carefully selected. The production of its masterbatch is also much more demanding than for general resins. Due to its crystallinity, POM cannot be colored with dyes. 4 Electrical properties: The dielectric constant is not affected by temperature and humidity. Differences in trace impurities caused by different manufacturing processes can have an order of magnitude impact on volume resistivity. |
| Product Applications | Automotive Industry: Used in automotive pumps, carburetor parts, fuel pipes, power valves, universal joint bearings, motor gears, handles, dashboards, car window lift devices, electrical switches, seatbelt buckles, etc. In the machinery manufacturing industry: Widely used as transmission components such as gears, drive shafts, chains, valves, valve stem nuts, bearings, cams, impellers, rollers, nozzles, bushings, pipe fittings, and mechanical structural parts. In the fields of electronics and electrical appliances, and household appliances: Manufacturing of plugs, switches, buttons, relays, washing machine pulleys, shafts and shells for cassette tapes, electronic computers, and various parts for televisions, washing machines, refrigerators, telephones, tape recorders, and dishwashers. Precision Instruments: Used for manufacturing support frames, covers, friction pads, and parts for clocks, cameras, and other precision instruments. Industrial and Consumer: Polyoxymethylene can also be used for corrosion-resistant fire hydrants, pen barrels and caps, toys, combs, zippers, mascara wands, and other consumer products. |
